Wow - it's the 10th Anniversary of Democrats.com! We wanted to give ourselves a big present for lasting so long and getting so big (over 700,000 strong and still growing). So with the expert help of our wonderful friends at Advomatic, we built ourselves a brand new website!

For the first time, our website reflects the heart of who we are, namely Activists. While many other sites have long and passionate discussions, we focus on taking effective actions that will bring about real change.

Our new home page features our hottest Actions, and the Take Action button at the top left lists all of our current Actions. And when you visit other pages on our site, you will often see relevant Actions on the right side.

When you take an Action, it's only natural to wonder who else is taking Action with you. So at the right side of the top we feature our top Activists. (For privacy reasons, you can't learn more about these Activists until you login.)

Of course we love national Actions because large numbers give us clout in politics, the media, and the marketplace. But we also love local Actions because that's where each of us, with the help of a handful of activist friends, can make an enormous difference in so many different ways.

That's why we created our completely unique Local section - so you can meet and connect with Democrats.com Activists in your zipcode, Congressional District, and even your whole State - wherever a particular action is most relevant.

(We need your street address to determine your Congressional District and to let your check your voter registration but we never display your address to anyone but you.)

Your customized Local section shows fellow Activists in your zipcode, CD, and state. You can click their Profiles to learn more about them. You can also click the Contact tab if you want to send them a personal email (if they accept emails).

You can also reach everyone in your CD or State by joining the discussion in the two columns (State and CD) at the bottom of your Local page. To start a new topic, just click the megaphone in the appropriate column.

Of course a Community only thrives when members share ideas and experiences. So we encourage you to fill out your Profile with a photo and a brief About statement. To find your Profile page, click your Username at the top right of every page.

While viewing your Profile, you can see all the Actions you've taken here since 2004, and all of your friends who took Actions you Referred to them. Congratulations for all you've done!

So that's the big picture Take a spin, click all the big buttons, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
